Lonnie Xavier Couvillion

Lonnie Xavier Couvillion passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born to the late; Verdie Lemoine and Dewey A. Couvillion in Moreauville, LA. Lonnie was the beloved husband of Jean Bourgeois Couvillion of 60 years.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, his sister; Irma C. Thibodeaux (Whitney) and his brother; Neil H. Couvillion.

He is survived by his sister-in-law; Peggy Couvillion, six children; Kevin Couvillion, Karen Sternberger (Karl), Kim Liggio (Paul), Keith Couvillion, Kendra Popp (Matt) and Ken Couvillion (Gretchen), 12 grandchildren; Daniel Couvillion (Holly), Lindsey Couvillion, Charles Pfister (Tamara), Karley and Corey Sternberger, Austin Liggio (Gaby), Montana Liggio, Isabelle and Joshua Popp, Brandon, Hope and Haley Couvillion, and 7 great grandchildren.

Lonnie was Honorably Discharged from the Army, Navy and the Marines. He was employed by N.O. Armature Works, Continental Electric and Con-Tech Marine.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Visitation will start at 11am and a Mass will follow in the chapel at 2pm with Father Matthew officiating. Interment will be held private.
