Louis Martin Schaff

Louis M. Schaff, died on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at his residence in Metairie. He was born in New Orleans on January 29, 1924. He was the son of the late Louis P. and Margaret Ryan Schaff. Beloved husband of Gracelyn Bogel Schaff for 65 years. Father of Sandra Schaff Wright, Lynn Schaff Parker (Dewey), Fabienne Schaff, Deborah Schaff Kramer (Dale) and Louis P. Schaff II (Stephanie). Brother of Elizabeth Schaff Bensel (John), Robert F. Schaff (Anna Joyce), Richard J. Schaff, Margaret Schaff Parr, Katherine Schaff Lambert (Patrick) and Judy Schaff Basile (Dominic). Grandfather of nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong resident of Metairie, graduate of Metairie High School, and attended Southeastern University. He served his country as a Marine during WWII. He was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church. He loved his faith, people, food, travel, sports, and his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Mass in the chapel at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
