She was born in Lake Charles on June 4, 1947. Preceding her in death were her parents Imogene and Henry Morgan, and her husband Lawrence B. Fabacher II Esq. She graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1965 and later from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. After she completed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination in 1975, she became a partner in the firm of Hanlon, Morgan & Stiron. Later in her career, she became a tax manager and senior accountant in taxation at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. During Mike Foster's terms as Governor of Louisiana, she was honored to be appointed to the Louisiana State Gaming Control Board.
Marcia was also a member of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. She was in private practice until the time of her death.
Her favorite pastime was her work; and she read voraciously. Larry met Marcia and started dating in 1975. They finally tied the knot in 1992. They loved to travel. Her husband Larry had his pilot’s license and a plane. Together they flew and travelled all over the United States and Europe with Marcia as the copilot. She loved white wine by 2pm; was unabashedly opinionated; and was never in doubt.
She leaves behind four nieces and one nephew: Courtney Fabacher Guste (John), Megan Fabacher Johnson (Aaron), Colin Fabacher, Kerrie Fabacher Montalbano (Wyatt) and Lawren Fabacher.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Marcia's name to the Magnolia Community Services which offers support and services to adults with developmental disabilities. www.mcs-nola.org.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The visitation will begin at 11 AM with the chapel service following at 12 PM.
