

Marshall Joseph Favret, 79, died at home from pulmonary fibrosis, on Friday November 28, at 3:20 AM, surrounded by his loving wife of 35 years, Jacqueline Owers Favret, and children. Marshall was born on November 6, 1935, and is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence F. Favret of Pointe-A-La-Hache and Leona L. Ehrhard of New Orleans, and his two sisters, Betty Hughes & Doris Guidroz. In addition to his wife, Marshall is survived by his brother Clarence "Bob" Favret, and his children Laura Favret Tobin (John), Jeffrey Favret (Mary), Dean Favret (Karin), Neal Favret (Melissa), David Favret (David), John Favret, and his stepson Brennan Lormand. Marshall treasured his grandchildren, Amanda Favret Pearce, Sarah Favret Daigle, Stacy and Peter Tobin, Gabrielle and Margot Favret, Jacob, Dana, Simon and Leah Favret and Truman Favret; and his great-grandchildren Evelyn and Magdalyn Pearce. Marshall obtained a B.B.A. in 1959 and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University, New Orleans in 1961. He was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1961 and was admitted to the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973. As a founding member of the law firm Favret, Demarest, Russo & Lutkewitte, he was licensed to practice as an attorney for more than 50 years. Although he was an accomplished attorney, his greatest successes were as husband and family man. He took joy in simple pleasures. His last day, Thanksgiving, was spent eating a traditional turkey dinner, watching LSU win, and being with his beloved Jackie. He is dearly loved and his funny, gentle spirit is missed.
