Mary Kelly

Born in Brooklyn, New York on March 30, 1933. She and her beloved husband, Bob Kelly, moved from Brooklyn, New York to Metairie, Louisiana in 1970 where they built a warm and loving home. Married for 52 years until Bob’s death in 2009, Mary and Bob shared a beautiful partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and an unwavering love for their family.

A devoted Catholic, Mary lived her life with faith, kindness, and quiet strength. She was incredibly proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family.

Mary loved the little joys in life—whether she was trying her luck at the casino, working through a puzzle, or sharing stories at the kitchen table. She had a sharp wit, a generous heart, and a way of making everyone feel like family.

Lovingly, Mary is survived by her four children: Eileen Kelly, Jim Kelly (Melissa), Peggy Anderson (Carl), and Mary Catherine Ferry (Buddy). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Katelyn Staley (Michael), Michael Kelly ( Chynna), Meghan Marino (Taylor), Kyle Ferry, Kevin Ferry, and Jennifer Jones (Brad). Guardian angel for her great-grandchildren: Olivia Ferry, Ryan, Matthew, and George Staley, Parker and Hayden Marino, Kaia Kelly, Jackson and Beau Jones.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family—a legacy that lives on in the hearts of those who knew her best.

The family would like to thank the staff at Compassus hospice for the care given over the last few months.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, LA., Monday, August 4, 2025. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be private at Metairie Cemetery.
