She was born on June 23, 1928 in Baton Rouge, LA to Levin Cooper Soulé and Marie Louise Theriot Soulé. Her early childhood was spent on Arrowhead Plantation near St. Francisville, LA and also in Covington, LA. At the age of nine her family moved to New Orleans, where her father joined Soulé Business College as a professor. She attended Newcomb College. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband of fifty-one years, George E. Conroy, Jr., and her adored granddaughter, Ashley Soulé Conroy. She is survived by two sons, George E. After many years of volunteering, she became a staff member at WYES as the Art Auction Manager. While on the staff at WYES, she was tapped to narrate the Great Chefs series, an experience she thoroughly enjoyed. After 50 years of service, she retired from WYES. She was a world class traveler, having visited all seven continents. Her favorite destination was Europe where she went to every country with the exception of Poland. She lived in Old Metairie for most of her adult life but moved to Mandeville in 1996 where she lived until 2022 when she moved back to New Orleans. The family will host a celebration of Mary Lou’s life at a later date.
