Montrell Leon Hymes, passed away, July 26, 2022, at Hospice Austin Christopher House in Austin, Tx, at the age of 52. Montrell and his twin sister Michelle were born on Jan 2, 1970, in New Orleans, LA. to Gwendolyn Duplessis Hymes (Greene) and the late Milton Hymes Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Francis-Hymes; children: Jessica, Jevin and Jasmine Napoleon; Sydney and Jayden Bridges; devoted Mother Gwendolyn Greene and husband Charles Greene. Mother and Father-in-Law: Betty and Bernard Francis (L’ester Elllis). His beloved sisters: Michelle Hymes-Murray and Terece Rowe, sister-in-law: Courtney Francis; brother in law: Randy Rowe; Grandchildren: Jordan, Jayion, Journey Napoleon and Janelle Narcisse and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Montrell was preceded in death by his father: Milton Hymes Jr, son, Montrell Napoleon and nephew Allen Floyd.
Montrell retired from Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, where he worked as water inspector for 20+ years.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Austin Christopher House, Tech Ridge Oaks Assisted Living, Heart Hospital of Austin, Favorite Healthcare Staff and the Acacium Group, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, Branch Bell Baptist Church, Nola, Mount Sinai Baptist, Church, Austin Tx and Fort Bend Church, Sugarland, Tx.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, at the Chapel at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Services 11:00 am and Internment will follow at Providence Memorial
