

Murray Joseph Stewart, a devoted husband, proud father and joyful grandfather, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the age of 71. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Eileen G. Stewart. He is preceded in death by his parents - Joseph M. Stewart, Jr. and Augusta Lagarde Stewart, his grandchild Zachary J. Theriot, and his siblings – Anna Stewart Cuccia, and Catherine Stewart. He is survived by his children, Angela M. Boyer, Hollie A. Brassette, and Gwenn L. Marelo, his grandchildren, Megan “Drew” Schumaker, Kellie E. Schumaker, and Nicholas J. Schneider and his siblings, JoAnn Stewart, and Mary Henry.
Murray built a career as a master electrician over the course of the last 48 years, as he remained an active member of the Independent Alliance of the Electrical Industry. In 1982 he started his electrical contracting company, Stewart & Associates, Inc. where he was honored to serve his community with exceptional service.
He dedicated part of his life working with the fraternal brotherhood in the Paul M. Schneidau - Lot # 391 and Galileo-Mazzini Lodge - Lot # 368. While serving in the lodge, he worked his way up to the highest rank as a Master Mason.
During Murray’s spare time he was passionate about the restoration of classic cars. He found immense joy working at his shop on his latest project, often with great friends and family.
Murray lived a life driven by his love for his family and friends. To know Murray was to love and admire him for his pure heart and contagious smile. His legacy lives on in the values he has instilled in his family and all of the lives he has touched along his life’s journey. He will be missed deeply by many.
