

N.J. (Woody) Ogé, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Maureen Rose Ogé; beloved daughter, Allison Ogé Cascio; and son-in-law, Chris Cascio. Woody, “PawPaw”, was the world to his adoring grandchildren, Brennan Elizabeth and Blake Christopher. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Ogé Leemann; her husband, Jim; and many close friends.
Woody was born on February 26, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norwood Ogé, Sr. and Eleanor Kaufmann Ogé.
Woody was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School class of 1962 and Southeastern University. He was the retired Director of Business Affairs for Ingalls Shipbuilding-Avondale Operations. During his tenure, he was responsible for all functions at the shipyard in support of ship construction and all community, local, state and federal business relations. He completed the Wharton and Harvard Business Executive Education courses.
Woody was appointed by the Governor to the Board of Supervisors for the Louisiana Community and College System in 2008, where he served as Chair from 2014-2016 and served as Supervisor until his passing. He was on the Board of Directors of the Delgado Community College Foundation, the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation, ASI Federal Credit Union, BGR (Bureau of Governmental Research), Jefferson Business Council and The Emerge Center Foundation Board. He also served in an advisory capacity to two national committees with OVAE and NNSP concentrating on Adult Education. Woody received the LCTCS Presidents Award in 2013 and the Alliance for Good Government Award in 2011.
As an avid golfer, Woody was a longtime member of Bernadotte Golf Club, the 19th Hole, and Greencrest Golf Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 on April 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
