Nancy was a faithful Companion of Pauline, an Associate of the Sisters of Christian Charity, for 38 years. Long before that, Nancy established a life-long friendship with the Sisters living at St. Raphael Convent. Her four children went to school at St. Raphael's for which she always was most grateful. Often she remarked how fortunate her children were for the good education leading them to have very productive and happy lives.

Nancy loved her family, always praying for them and talking about them. It was a joy to see the many pictures shared on the memory video showing her loved ones over the years. One of the pictures captured my attention. It was the roses growing in front of her home on Drew Street. When I lived at St. Raphael Convent, I remember her bringing roses to us from that garden.

We remember Nancy and her family in our daily prayers, thanking God for the life of this beautiful, loving woman. She prayed with us and for us during her life, I am sure she will be praying for us in heaven. May she be with God and all the communion of saints living in peace and joy forever.

My prayers are for the Espenan family to be comforted during this sad time.
I grew up in St. Raphael Parish and was a childhood friend of Johnny when he lived on Drew Avenue. I remember spending nights at his home and remember fondly his mother who always treated me well. Breakfast after a night of not sleeping was always great.
Johnny, I am sorry for your loss and I pray that you and your family are well and safe.
God bless,

Nancy, Over 35 years ago you were the first to welcome a young Black couple into your block in an old Gentilly neighborood. You treated us as if we were your own children. When we had our children you termed yourself their" I talian grandmother". We have missed you and will continue to miss you greatly. We will never forget your loving kindness and your Christian heart. You were a true example of how God wants us to live on this earth. Family you are in our prayers.
