

Nita Tastet Zeringue passed away on May 28, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born in Raceland, Louisiana, on November 29, 1931. She was married on November 26, 1950 and became a devoted homemaker. Nita was a longtime parishioner of St. Christopher the Martyr Church. She was devoted to her family cat, Precious Baby. She found joy in singing her favorite song “How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Agney J. Zeringue; parents, Anatole Adam Tastet and Cecelia Boudreaux Tastet; sisters, Gladys Tastet Grabert, Anna Mae Tastet Williams, Eleanor Helen Tastet Ingrassia, her twin, Rita Marie Tastet Boudreaux; and brothers, Clarence Joseph Tastet, Laurence Adam Tastet, Anatole Paul Tastet, Hubert Joseph Tastet, Henry Joseph Tastet, Oscar Allen Tastet, and Ronald Allen Tastet.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Russell Serigny and Kevin McConnell, Living in Love LLC staff, Foundation Hospice, Bayside Rehab and Nursing Home, Rev. Raymond Igbogidi and the parishioners of St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church, and Fr. Andrew Taormina and the parishioners of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider having a Mass said in her honor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church, 309 Manson Avenue in Metairie, on Monday, June 2, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM with a Mass to follow at 11 AM. Nita will be laid to rest beside her husband in Lake Lawn Park following the Mass.
