Olga Estela “Nena” Miller departed this life for her heavenly and eternal rest with the Lord on May 19, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born in Esparta, Honduras on November 1, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents Teodoro and Maria Luisa Munguia. She is survived by her two sons Robert and Chris (Judy), her three grandchildren Kandace (Stone), Daniel and Eric and her great grandson, Adrian who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Olivia, Melida, Orfilia, Blanca, Esther and Alba Luz and her brother, Eduardo.
After raising her children with much care and love, Olga worked in the tourist industry for decades providing information, primarily at Louis Armstrong International Airport, as an airport ambassador. During her years at the airport, she assisted thousands of people from around the world. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of the City of New Orleans and upon the arrival of visitors to the city, she would provide information on the best things to do and places to go. It was quite often that upon leaving the city, the individuals that she assisted would return to her desk and thank her for her guidance that made their trip to New Orleans such a wonderful experience.
Special thanks to Ms. Linda, Ms. Anita and Ms. Karen who have assisted with her daily care over the past few years as well as to the nurses and staff of Hospice Specialists of Louisiana.
Visitation will be at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Metairie on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with mass to follow at 1 p.m. A private burial will follow the mass. Lake Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity in the name of Olga Miller.
