
Oliver P. “Ike” Carriere, Jr., 94, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Ike was preceded in death by Jean, his beloved wife of 63 years. He is survived by his three children, Dennis (Jan), Aimee (Gregg) and Stephen (Yvonne). In addition, he is survived by ten grandchildren, Etienne, Elisabeth (Cacey), Nicholas, Peyton, Kyle (Katie), Madeleine (Chris), Dennis (Catherine), Thomas, Catherine and Holly, as well as four great-grandchildren, Etienne, Paul, Emma and Elise. Preceding him in death were his parents, Judge Oliver P. Carriere and Irma Elizabeth Dupree Carriere, and his brother James D. Carriere.
Ike’s life was full of many relatives and friends that made his life full of love, joy and laughter.
The family would like to thank all family and friends for their love and support. In addition, the family would like to thank the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers for the repose of the souls of Ike, Jean and all the souls in purgatory.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 to Noon. Mass will then be celebrated at Noon at the Lake Lawn Chapel followed by interment of Ike and Jean at All Saints Mausoleum.
