

Born in Destrehan, LA, Oneil was a graduate of Destrehan High School, a United States Army Air Corp Veteran, and retired Master Diesel Mechanic with Boh Brothers Construction Company. He was a charter member of the American Legion Post 350, St. Francis Xavier Parishioner, and member of IUOE 406 Union, Coffee Club, and Brothers. Oneil loved fishing, hunting, cooking, making beer and wine, gardening, and building and fixing things. Pops, you will be deeply missed.
Oneil was preceded in death by his loving spouse of 76 years, Victoria Williams; and sister Leatrice Kittok. He is survived by children Oneil J. Williams, Jr. (Dolly), Kathleen W. Boothe (Fred), and Lisa W. Banderet (Louie); brother Willis J. Williams; grandchildren Jeffrey Williams, Robyn Grefaldon, Patrick Boothe, Caroline Williams, and Matthew Banderet; and great-grandchildren Alessandra Williams, Cameron Banderet, Kaleb Banderet, Vivien Williams, Mason Grefaldon, Hamid Tamimi, Carter Grefaldon, Riley Banderet, Safiya Tamimi, and Victoria Grefaldon.
The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Peristyle at Bucktown, especially Lise, Irene, Noel, Loretta, and Shantrel, and nurses Monique and Jessica.
A visitation for Oneil will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations are offered in memory of Oneil to the charity of your choice.
