Patty Jones is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Stephen Jones, her children, Peter Jones (and partner, Elizabeth Butler) and Judith Jones Arute (and husband, William Arute). She is incredibly proud of her four grandchildren; Remington Jones (15), Ava “Kitty” Arute (14), Jackson Jones (10), and Sebastian Jones (5). She is also survived by her brother, Larry Dominguez, and sister, Janet Pinkston Lewis. Her heavenly family welcomed her on October 2nd. Her mother, Juanita Dominguez, her father, Arthur Dominguez, and older siblings, Bernie and Andrea Ormes, have been awaiting her to join them again. Niece, Jaqueline Ormes, in-laws, Jay and Er-Dein Weiner, brother-in-law, Timothy Jones, and Godson, Joseph Palazzola, will be awaiting her as well.
Patty was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to Margaret Juanita Martin and Jesse Pinkston. She was their only child together but youngest of her siblings as both of her parents had previously been married. By the time Patty was three, her family moved to Henderson, Nevada. There, her parents divorced and her mother remarried her true love and Patty’s true father, Arthur Dominguez. When Patty was in junior high school, the family moved to Palm Springs, California. There, Patty thrived learning classical piano and singing in many church and synagogue choirs. She was the first person in her bloodline to graduate high school, and she even went on to receive her Associate of Arts degree at College of the Desert, twice being honored as A Woman of Distinction. In college, she met her husband, Bobby. Until the day she passed, she always said her life really started when she married him. They moved to Los Angeles, where soon after their daughter, Judith, was born, and five years later their son, Peter, arrived. Patty worked for her father-in-law for 20 years and then took over the company with Bobby. She had an amazing work ethic, but work was never her passion. Her passion was always the love she shared with her family and friends. As a lifelong Catholic, her faith always guided her and carried her throughout her life. Once retired, she moved to New Orleans, where her children had already settled and were raising her beloved grandchildren. She soon found what became her favorite church, All Saints in Algiers Point. The friendships she found in her later years she held very close to her heart and brought her great joy. Patty passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
