
Paul L. Storey died August 26, 2016. A long-time resident of New Orleans, Paul is survived by his daughter, Shauna DeBow Storey Grissett and her husband, Finley David Grissett and his grand-dog, Sadie Grissett. He is also survived by two brothers, Demps E. Bannerman of Tupelo, Mississippi and C. Ward Bannerman of Pass Christian; step-grandchildren Megan C. Grissett of New York, New York and Jonathan F. Grissett of Berlin, Germany; sister-in-law Ann F. Rucker, Harahan, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was pre-deceased by his late wife, Shirley Rucker Storey. Born at Helena, Ark., November 6, 1930, the veteran New Orleans advertising agency executive attended Hendrix College, Conway, Ark., and was graduated from The University of Missouri School of Journalism, Columbia, Mo. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Langford Bannerman of Hartsville, Tenn., and Paul L. Storey, Sr., of Hartsville, Tenn. Upon coming to New Orleans from Shreveport in the mid-1950s Paul began a 40-year career with area advertising agencies, initially with Bauerlein, Inc., Advertising and Public Relations. In 1969 he joined in the formation of a new agency as a partner of Byrne, Watts, Storey Advertising, which later became Storey, Camus, McNamara & Galle Advertising. The agency merged in 1981 with Bauerlein, Inc., where Paul was senior vice-president. He remained with the company, specializing in account administration, until retirement in 1992. Paul was an avid bridge player and played at several bridge clubs. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, River Ridge. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
