

Raymond Miles Muro Jr, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and family at the age of 88. He departed this life and entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, August 18, 2014. “Pops” is survived by his wife & Love of His Life of 64 years, Elaine Schultis Muro; his five children, Daniel Raymond Muro (Kathrina), Gregory Paul Muro (Kathy), Loren Muro Comeaux (Michael), Tami Muro Hodges (Rickie) and Bradley Michael Muro. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Nicholas J Fayo III (Sandy), Shannon Fayo Lauretta (Richard); Bonnie Muro Üst (Anil), Brandon P Muro (Samantha); Michael L Comeaux Jr, Rae E Comeaux & Christina M Comeaux; Kelli C Doussan (Jason), Dusten J Caballero & Jennifer E Caballero; Joshua M Muro, Stefan M Muro & Colette A Muro. He is survived by 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas J Fayo IV, Fallon Fayo; Cameryn D Lauretta; and Lina A Üst. He will be dearly missed by his three caretakers; Flora, Andrea and Lewanna. Ray enlisted in the US Navy on July 31, 1944 at the age of 17. He was Private Third Class Signalman on the USS Biloxi in WWII until the war was over and was given an Honorable Discharge on May 24, 1946. He attended Tulane & Loyola Universities. He worked for International Harvester, The Item and WWL-TV/ Radio. He was with WWL/CBS for 27 years. He retired in 1985. Ray was a fourth degree black belt in Judo and was an instructor throughout his life. After retirement he opened a photography studio for 10 years. Family & friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St Angela Merici, 901 Beverly Garden Dr, Metairie, at Noon on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
