Rebecca was born on November 25, 1973, in New Orleans, LA, to Harold James “Jimmie” Schneider II and Doris Janek Schneider. She grew up with a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed that remained with her throughout her life. After graduating from Laurel High School in 1991, she continued her education at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in Oxford and the University of New Orleans, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
Rebecca began her professional career with IBM, where she put her education and talents to work with dedication and skill. She also devoted over 26 years to the New Orleans hospitality industry, working as a server and party captain at Red Fish Grill and Ralph’s on the Park. Rebecca had a remarkable gift for connecting with people, and she took great pride in mentoring younger staff. Her influence was instrumental in shaping training programs and fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Rebecca’s greatest joy came from the life she built with her partner of 27 years, Neil J. Domingo. Together, they shared a love of travel, exploring new cities, countries, and cuisines, creating countless cherished memories along the way. She was an incredibly generous person, full of warmth and an adventurous spirit that touched everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold “Jimmie” Schneider II, who passed away in 2011. She is survived by her loving mother, Doris J. Schneider, of Clinton, MS; her brothers, David J. Schneider of Hattiesburg, MS, and Joshua P. Schneider of Birmingham, AL; and her devoted companion, Neil J. Domingo, of New Orleans, LA.
