I just heard of Rich's passing; I wanted to send his wife and children my condolences. I met Rich and Karen soon after they moved to Houston and their daughter Davis entered my daughter Jillian's class. He always had a smile on his face whenever I saw him at many of the kids' activities. 

To his entire family: may the memories of the time spent with him bring a smile to your face before a tear to your eye.

We are so saddened to hear of Richard's untimely passing, and wish peace and healing to his family.  Though my time spent with him was brief, I fondly recall our conservations, filled with his kindness, intellect, and wisdom.  He was truly an inspiration to many.

To all the family, I didn’t know Richard for a long time but he was always a man of honor who spoke very highly of his family. 

He helped at a time when I lost my father suddenly also at a young age. 

Richard was a kind and loving man who was polite and friendly with all people he met. I was very sad to hear about his passing. 

May his memory be a blessing and may his family find peace and comfort. 

I would love to speak with one of his family members personally to send my condolences.

We had the honor of meeting Richard thanks to  his beautiful daughters at Ecole Bilingue in New Orleans.  We send Karen and the family our deepest sympathies.  We will remember Richard forever as a loving, caring father and a great guy.

Rich was on the Ramah Pilgrimage I went on to Israel back in 1988 and I have such fond memories of him .  He was such a jovial and up beat  person.  Rich had an infectious smile and was always holding court if my memory serves me.  I truly remember him being a very happy and confident person who included everyone…may his memory and soul be remembered and passed down to the generations that follow.

His zest for life, unshakable confidence, and constant smile made every moment memorable. Rich was the epitome of positivity and adventure, always eager to make the most of our trip. Dear Goldenberg Family - Rich took me in as an apprentice banker when I was struggling to get my career started.  He invested a ton in my personal and professional development and showed me much loyalty over the years that I was blessed to work with him (as he did for many).  This enabled me to have a career in finance and provide a nice life for my family.  We all worked hard for the opportunity to work on his projects as he was so much fun to hang out with, the learning opportunity was great, and his intensity was infectious.  We saw him do some of the most amazing things.  I am also proud of him for the great family that he raised.  Sending many thoughts and prayers your way.

i knew rich from our trip to israel. we were at tulane together and had a very special connection. i have so many memories of his silliness, strength and friendship. we recently connected and i had hopes that i would see him again. our relationship was very sweet. i will miss his voice,  his goofiness, seriousness, and wisdom.

I met Rich about a year ago and we have been working together at the same company since. Rich was an absolute pleasure to work with, great at what he does, but more importantly, was a sweet man who seemed to be the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back for others.

When I heard the news of Rich’s passing, I was absolutely devastated. I was working with him as a temp in Investing Banking in New Orleans. Rich taught me so much; he had faith in me and taught me how to be the best executive assistant I could be. After Katrina, we lost everything. Rich told me that if I could get to Houston, he’d get me hired full time, and he did. I cannot even imagine what would have happened to my family had he not helped us when we needed it most. When he moved back to New Orleans, I had to find a new job and Rich gave me a outstanding review. He excelled at his career, loved his family so very much, was such a caring person. He was my teacher, mentor, and friend. God Bless the entire Goldenberg family. My heart goes out to all his children as they will forever miss their loving father.

Dear Davis, I'm so sorry about your father's passing. I can imagine the pain that your mother, you and the whole family are feeling at losing such an important and dear person. I would like you to know that I am praying for you, that God may comfort you in this difficult time.

Dearest Karen and all your beautiful children:

I know how you all are reeling from this loss.  Richard was always so caring and supportive.  Always wearing a smile and loved each of you so much.  It was evident when he came to school to watch all your recitals or events!  And when he spoke of each of you, the gleam of pride in his eyes lit up the room.  I am keeping you all in my prayers for peace and comfort in this most difficult time.  You each have his confidence and strength that will carry you through this darkness.  There are many who are here to share his love and help you through the darkest hours.  You should be very proud to call him your father.  He was an amazing father and husband.

I know Richard through my friendship with Karen over the last decade. I've always observed and admired his love, loyalty and commitment to his family. I hope your memories give you peace and comfort during this difficult time and may Richard's memory be for a blessing.

I met Rich around 2002 and we remained friends since.  Rich was a great banker and always seemed to calmly juggle high stress investment banking while at the same time taking care of a very large family.  In a number of ways, the course of my business career was changed as a result of my experiences with Rich.  I was saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age and while at a pivotal period for him.  My sincere condolences to his entire family.
