Rita May Normand Lopez, 93, passed away at her residence on May 20, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and daughter Noel Lopez. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Alvin C. Lopez, Sr., daughters Rita Falterman, Catherine Lopez and Patricia Langlois (Pierre), son Alvin C. “Sparky” Lopez, Jr. (Claudia), eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at St. Christopher the Martyr Church, 309 Manson St., Metairie, LA 70001. A Visitation will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that masses be made or donations be made to Deacon Ed’s Helping Hands Food Bank, 444 Metairie Rd, Metairie, LA 70005.
