Rita Schule McCollum

Rita Schule McCollum passed away on March 24, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the cherished mother of Judy McCollum Lerch, George M. McCollum and the late Kathleen McCollum Carline (husband Clarence). Beloved Granny of Michael McCollum, Kristine C. Koepp (husband Nick) and Morganne Lerch. Also beloved Great Granny to C.J. Showalter, Aden and Kathryn Koepp. She was the former wife of the late Frank R. McCollum; Daughter of the late John and Marie Schule.

Rita was a 50 year resident of Arabi and after Katrina, she then moved to River Ridge. She was a graduate of F.T. Nicholls High School, class of 1945. She was a dedicated employee of The First National Bank of Commerce retiring after more than 35 years of service.

The family would like to thank Wendy Osorio, Nemeses Osorio, Yeiby Agurcia, Michelle Vargas, Allison Hernandez, Orfy Gomez and the staff of Laketown Village and Compassus Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service at 12pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. A visitation will begin at 10:30am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery No.1 in New Orleans, LA.
