

Robert J. “Bobby” Heintz, Sr., age 79, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, with his loved ones by his side. Bobby was a native of New Orleans, LA, a resident of Chalmette, LA for 33 years, and has resided in Mandeville, LA since Hurricane Katrina. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joycelyn Landry Heintz; his loving son, Robert J. “Rob” Heintz, Jr.; his grandson, Robert J. “Trey” Heintz III (Carina); and his great grandson, Liam.
He was the son of the late Anthony and Lillian Friedman Heintz
He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Heintz (late Helena), Franklin Heintz (Ethelyn) and Jimmy Heintz; and his sister, Jacquelyn H. Walter (Martin). He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Heintz (Claudette); and his sister, Dolores H. Reynolds (late Billy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and others near and dear to his heart.
Bobby was true to his faith, and he loved his family more than life itself. He loved cooking for his family. He was an avid Saints fan since their inception. Saints home games were a favorite time to spend with his son. He loved watching Jeopardy. He had a special way of always making his family feel “very” loved. Making friends was easy for him.
Bobby attended Redemptorist High. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the IATSE Local 39 Stagehand Union. In Chalmette, he served as an usher at the 8:00 Mass at Prince of Peace Church, and he was a member of the Princeman Club and served on the cooking committee. He has been a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake in Mandeville, since moving to the Northshore.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
Masses preferred in lieu of flowers.
