In loving memory of our father, Robert [Bob] Daniel Walsh, Sr. He passed away peacefully at his home in Mandeville on February 15, 2026. He was 84 years old. Bob was born on December 25, 1941, in the Bronx, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Viola Walsh. He has two brothers, Frank Jr. & Donald Walsh.
Bob married Genevieve Maiolo Walsh on May 30, 1959, and they have four children, all of whom were born in New Rochelle, New York. He remarried Fonda Chambers Walsh in 1991. They remained married until her death on August 13, 2025.
Bob leaves to cherish his memory his children, Robert Walsh Jr, Kevin Walsh, Joseph Walsh (Nola), and Daniel Walsh (Elaine); his grandchildren, Lauren, Julie, Marianne, Genevieve, Jordan, Maci, Taylor, Brennan, Trevor, Kaden, Mia, Jacob and Jesse; and his great grandchildren, Alco, Evieana, Noah, Liam, Leif, Azalea, Aubrey, Brooks, Gianna, Aria, Rowen, Everly, Ember, William, Skyler and Destin.
In 1969, he moved from New York to New Jersey with the company he began working for, which was Savin Corporation. Then in 1977, he moved to Louisiana, along with his business partner Bill Kenny, as one of the first authorized Savin dealers in the New Orleans area. From there, with many years of hard work and determination, the business grew into 4 locations in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and the North Shore. With the skill that he had as a brilliant manager and motivator of people, he was able to get the most out of his employees and build the company into a small empire in the South. The company continues to thrive and grow under Bob and Bill's leadership.
Three of the 4 boys were privileged enough to work for the business, where they were blessed to learn from the best. His lessons still ring very loudly in their ear, as they will always. Under the guidance and work ethic of Bob and Bill, anything was possible. They led by example and continue to lead by example even today, even though our dad is no longer with us. We are truly grateful for what our dad provided and for the parents that we had. We can only hope to carry on his legacy and continue to make him proud.
Over the years, Bob enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed his life and traveling. He traveled throughout the world and had an amazing and fulfilling life. He loved going places he hadn't been before.
Most of all, our dad loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren....He was the center of all family gatherings. He loved having a big, close family. He had a long beautiful life that only few could imagine.
He was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
