

Roger M. Dube, 69, died at Canon Hospice on Monday, June 30, 2014. He only lived 20 days after being diagnosed with advanced stage cancer. He fought this rapid battle with courage and never complained. He has now gone to heaven to be with the Lord. Roger was born November 22, 1944 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Blanche Tremblay Dube and Wilbert Dube. He is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie Cozzens Dube, his three daughters Cheryl (Paul) Timphony, Melanie Spindel and Alicia (Thomas) Stanley, two step-children Robert (Cindy) Savona and Stacie (Dan) Daley. Roger had four grandsons, two granddaughters, three step-grandsons and two step-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald, his beloved first wife, Pauline G. Dube, and his step-grandson, Scott Savona. Roger retired in 2007 and enjoyed spending time cooking, gardening, reading, trips to casinos, singing, playing the piano and watching his beloved New Orleans Saints and Boston Red Sox. He was a kind, caring human being and loved children. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from Noon until service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boys Town www.boystown.org.
