Rosalie Leone Bruno

Rosalie Leone Bruno passed away at the age of 95 on February 16, 2023. A native of Hester, Louisiana, she was born August 19, 1927 to the late Katherine Starlone and Salvadore A. Leone. She was a dedicated member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. A deeply religious person, she volunteered to care for others who were needy or elderly.

She was a wonderful mother who cared for her husband and four children, devoting all of her energy to the welfare of her family. While expressing her love for her family in many ways including the preparation of delicious meals, she also kept a special place in her heart for the family’s dogs. Besides being a full-time mom, Rosalie was able to successfully manage the family’s rental properties.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Richard F. Bruno, and her brother William N. Blaylock. She is survived by daughters Mary Louise Perrin (Jim), Kathy Singleton (Tom), and Jacqueline McCord (Sam), and a son Richard A. Bruno (Lisa), grandchildren Charlotte, Chalise, Melissa, Lizzie, Katie, Kellie, Meghan, John, and Mary, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Poydras Home, and the Hospice Specialist of Louisiana for all their care and support.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 9:00 a. m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124. A mass will immediately follow the visitation at 10:00 a. m., with interment in All Saints Mausoleum.
