Rose Bacino Spansel

Rose Bacino Spansel, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 12:15pm, at the age of 97. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry W Spansel Sr. for 49 years. Daughter of the late Petronella Merenda Bacino and Luca Bacino. Sister of the late Joseph A., Bazile J., James P., Lucas J. and Salvador Bacino. Loving and devoted mother of Patricia S. St.Pierre (Denis), Mary S. Sandifer (the late Alan), Catherine R. Spansel and Henry W. Spansel Jr. (Judee). Cherished grandmother of Keith M. St.Pierre (Julie), Christopher P. St.Pierre, Lauren S. Villarrubia (Doug), Gregory D. St.Pierre (Erika), Russell H. Spansel (Casey), Dr. Amanda Sandifer (Matt Conine), Ashley S. Camardelle (Danny) and Ryan C. Sandifer. Proud Gigi of Olivia and Caroline St.Pierre, Nicholas and Paige Villarrubia, Abigail St.Pierre and Katherine and Lillian St.Pierre. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Metairie, LA for the past 19 years.

She was a strong and faith-filled woman who loved the Lord. One of her greatest joys was cooking wonderful meals for all to enjoy. She will be missed greatly by all who loved her. She was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church until it was closed after Hurricane Katrina.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Friday January 27th, 2017 beginning at 11:00am, followed by a funeral mass at 2:00pm. Interment will be held at Metairie Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Page and Hospice Compassus, especially Melissa and Angel for their kind and special care.
