Ruth Collins Stewart passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the age of 102. She was a loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was for 25 years a teacher and was also a businesswoman, a world traveler, a bridge player and an avid bargain hunter. Above all, she was a fiercely independent spirit. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral mass at Lake Lawn Memorial Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at12:00pm. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. The family thanks the staff at Heritage Manor in Mandeville who took such good care of her for 9 years.
