Salvador Joseph D’Antoni, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born in New Orleans on March 24, 1939. After graduating from De La Salle High School, he went on to work at D’Antoni Insurance Agency with his father. He then decided to pursue a career in law enforcement, working as a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy for over 25 years.
He was one of the founding families of St. Benilde Parish and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena for 36 years and a member of the parish's Rosary Altar Society. He was in Knights of Columbus (St. Catherine of Siena Council #12686, William J. Guste Sr. Assembly #331, Order of Alhambra Darro Caravan #29), Lakeside Lion’s Club, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
In his free time, he loved to work on classic cars, especially his ’57 Chevrolet and ’62 Cadillac and competing in cars shows. He enjoyed country music and songs from the 50s, especially Elvis. Sal was immensely proud of his Sicilian Heritage and an active member in the Cefalutana Society. Above everything else, he loved to spend time making memories with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him or enjoyed any of his many meatball and spaghetti dinners which he so generously shared.
