Our mom had the prettiest smile, the softest hug and the firmest hand. She made the best tomato gravy and the best seafood gumbo. Her love for our extended family and her friends was endless. Those who had the chance to meet her and know her were immediately drawn in by her smile, her hug, her food, and her love.
As a working mother, she raised her family, she started and graduated college in her 50’s, and achieved many personal and professional goals she set for herself. She was always looking for and willing to accept the next challenge life threw at her with grace and style. She lived her life as a strong and independent woman until the very end.
As her children and grandchildren, we were fortunate enough to experience the love this talented soul exhibited every day of our lives. Her example and legacy will live on through each of us as well as through all of the friends and family her enormous heart touched in her 80 years.
