Susan McKneely Turgeau passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born on February 27, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from Redemptorist High School, she entered the workforce as graphics supervisor and then as a realtor. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene B. McKneely, Sr. and Albertine S. McKneely; and her brother, Eugene B. McKneely, Jr.
Susan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gustave Laroque Turgeau; daughter, Pamela Turgeau Starns (Rémy); son, Dr. Michael Paul Turgeau (Brenda); grandchildren, Gabrielle Carroll, Madeline Kyzar, Milan Hebert, Alexander Turgeau, Camron Viola, and Grant Turgeau; and great grandchildren, Isla Hebert and Harrison Carroll.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 1 PM. Visitation will begin at 11 AM. She will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
