Our beautiful, sweet, loving, creative, inquisitive, perfect angel Sydney Michelle Conzelmann was born or June 30, 2020 and entered eternal happiness with Jesus our Lord and Savior on December 26,2025. In her short 5 ½ years with us on earth, she radiated love and compassion to every person in her path. She never met a stranger. Her smile was pure perfection. She exemplified grace. She hugged all of her friends and would run with open arms to embrace anyone she recognized. She loved to make art, dance, play soccer, sing, eat at fancy restaurants, give her opinion on things, and play teacher.
On Easter of 2025, our family experienced an incredible trip to Italy visiting the Vatican, Belize on her 5th birthday, and Pensacola with her cousins. She was so excited about being an angel in the SPN Christmas Kindergarten play so she could announce, “The whole town of Bethlehem was still. They knew he was God’s Chosen One. Merry Christmas!” Her last day with us was Christmas where she was able to experience so much joy playing with her family, cousins, and extended family. Her sister Julia and her brother Zachary were always her greatest friends and lights of her life.
She learned so much from Fr. Andrew and her teachers at St. Philip Neri school and church. She wanted to know more about Jesus and Mary and smiled so big when she learned a new prayer. At Adore night, the week before she was called Home, she gazed at the monstrance and asked so many questions, but knew that if we make the sign of the cross He will work in us.
She leaves behind parents Blake and Alicia, sister Julia Mary, brother Zachary Blake, grandmother Susie Conzelmann, grandparents Alan and Marie Hasenkampf, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Jamie, cousins Caleb and Cecilia, Uncle Mike and Aunt Anita, cousins Ethan and Ava, Uncle Mark and Aunt Denise, cousins Allison, Jackson, Sebastian, and Dominic, Godfather Uncle Matt and Aunt Dara, cousins Hampton and Hayden, Uncle Mitch and Aunt Jenna, Godmother Aunt Amy and Uncle Jake, cousins Haley, Joey, Johnny, and Hannah, and her extended family that meant so much to her, as well as all of the friends she made at SPN.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather “Papa Davo” David Conzelmann, great grandparents Peter and Mary Albano, Henry and Janet Conzelmann, William and Anna Hasenkampf, George and “Day” Elaine White.
The family would like to give special thanks to all of our family and friends near and far that are celebrating Sydney’s life with us. In lieu of flowers, we ask instead for your donations to St. Jerome Food Bank to help those most in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave. in Metairie, on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 12:30PM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:30AM. The interment will be private.
