

Terry Joseph Fredricks, a proud Vietnam veteran, devoted New Orleanian, and beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 5, 2026, at the age of 77.
Terry served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Among his many awards were the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, recognizing his bravery, sacrifice, and dedication to his fellow service members and his country.
Known by many as a true workaholic, Terry believed in hard work, dedication, and perseverance. After Hurricane Katrina, he played an important role in helping rebuild New Orleans and was recognized with an award for his contributions to the city’s recovery—something he took great pride in.
Terry had a vibrant spirit and a love for music and dancing. He was often the life of the party.
Above all, Terry will be remembered for his strength, his unwavering work ethic, and his deep love and devotion to his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Hebert Fredricks; his father, Alfred Fredricks; his sister, Darlene Fredricks; and his brother, Anthony “Sal” Fazzio.
He is survived by spouse, Mary Fredricks; daughters, Daynell Seruntine (Dean Seruntine), Joyce Juneau, Tina Ribas (MSgt USMC Retired Mario Ribas), and Amanda Cornwall; son Daniel Cornwall; sister, Lois Terese; brother, Ricardo Fredricks (Denise Fredricks); 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friends, Saint Jones, Brandon Nodier, and Ronald Comadore; as well as numerous adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
