

Thomas C. Causin, Jr. passed away on July 25, 2025 and rejoins the love of his life Toni. He was a proud loving father of his two sons and grandfather to his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his late wife, of forty-eight ½ years, Toni Ann Jaeger Causin. He is the son of the late Thomas Clifton Causin Sr., his late mother, Gilda Fortmayer DeVault, and his late stepfather, Donald Faye DeVault. He is survived by his sons, Thomas “Trey” C. Causin lll (Sara) and Philip Anthony Causin (Lisa); sister, Elizabeth LeGlue; brother-in-law, Philip “Flip” Jaeger; his beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Jaeger, Jolie, Ashlyn, Andrew, Walle, and Josh Causin; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A native of New Orleans, Thomas graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1963 and attended Louisiana State University where he was affiliated with Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He spent most of his working career with Time/Warner as a Territory Manager. At the time of his death, he was Vice President of Marketing and Customer Relations, the Louisiana Division of Cajun Cowboy Products. He was active in civic and religious organizations where he was a member of the Algiers Lions Club, served as Vice President and Bingo Chairman. A long-time parishioner of Christ the King Parish where he was a member Holy Name of Jesus Society, and at the time of his death a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish where he was an Usher and a member of Knight of Columbus Council 12686 and held the office of Deputy Grand Knight. Tommy also coached both boys in soccer (10 years) and won a state championship with Plantation Athletic Club, under twelve team along with three city championships. A proud father and grandfather of 4 Brother Martin Crusaders Trey Class of ’89, Philip Class of ’95, Jackson Class of ’23 and Jaeger Class of 28. Tom was Bingo Chairman for 3 1/2 years while Trey attended Brother Martin High School and worked the annual school fund drive and he along with his late wife Toni, was Fair Chair-couple or Co-Chair-couple from (1991-1995} 5 years while his son Philip attended Brother Martin High School. Tom and his wife, Toni, were deeply devoted to Brother Martin High School, remaining active members of the school community for more than 38 years—even after both of their sons graduated. In recognition of their enduring commitment, Tom was honored with the Brother Martin Founder’s Medal. As members of the Society of 1869, Tom and Toni demonstrated their belief in the school’s mission by establishing an endowed scholarship in the Causin family name, helping to support future generations of students. He was also a member of The Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. He is a former member of the Grocery Manufacturers Representative Association of Louisiana. Tommy met his precious love of his life, Toni on a blind date on November 20, 1969, at the last 62-0 LSU/Tulane game. They later were married on October 11, 1969. He was an avid LSU fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. Tom and Toni shared a beautiful and enduring marriage, enriched by their love of travel. Together, they made five memorable trips to Europe and enjoyed many cherished vacations throughout the United States. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the physicians who provided exceptional care and compassion over the years: Drs. Borgman, Short, Luper, Karam, Yount, Lentz and Glade. They would also like to thank the dedicated team from Hearts of Hospice, the Brother Martin family, and Villa Bencaz for their unwavering support, kindness, and presence during this time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in celebration of Tom’s life on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of the Tom to the following organizations: the St. Aloysius Century Foundation in the name of the Tom and Toni Causin Family Foundation Fund, St. Catherine of Siena Church, the American Heart Association, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the American Diabetes Association, and The Order of St. Lazarus.
