My heart aches at the realization that my friend, Tom Meyer is gone.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I was deeply saddened upon learning of his passing. I had known Tom for approximately 55 years.  He, his brother Roger, and I used to hang out together on the streets of Harahan in the early 1970's.  I have fond memories of those days.  We had a lot of good times together.  One of my fond memories is of Tom and his lovely wife, Diane, going snow skiing with me in California.  We had a great time.  Another memory is of Tom taking me for a ride in a small airplane.  It was very enjoyable and I shall never forget it.

Tom had many accomplishments in life, marrying Diane, obtaining a college degree, and landing a great job with the US Department of the Interior, to name a few.  He had a lot to be proud of.  

My friend Tom will be missed by everyone who knew him.   May the good Lord bless him and keep him and may he rest in peace.

He loved his smoking and grilling. It always tasted so good. He was such a generous and great person.
I will miss our lunches and all the fun and enlightening discussions. Him and I shared our love of aviation and would spend hours talking about airplanes. He was such a kind and caring person, driving home from New Orleans to Florida he would call me on my trips to make sure I was ok and  keep me company so I would not fall asleep. 
My condolences go out to Dianna and his family. 
He will be missed terribly.

I wanted to reach out and share a few memories of Tom that I’ve been holding close to my heart. Working with him at BSEE was a highlight of my day.

I’ll never forget my first day on the job. Tom was the first person to truly welcome me, handing me a cup of coffee and telling me that if I liked it, I was officially in the 'coffee club.' That small gesture changed everything for me—it turned a stressful first day into the start of a great friendship.

Tom was the definition of a man who would show up when you needed him. He once drove all the way from Bush to Ponchatoula just to help me fix my riding lawnmower. He didn't do it because he had to; he did it because that was simply the type of man he was. He was generous with his time, his skills, and his kindness.

We are all feeling the silence in the office now that he is gone. We miss hearing about his airplanes, but mostly, we miss his spirit. Thank you for sharing him with us. He was a truly great friend

My friend and an honored man.  I will miss you!  My condolences to his family and friends!  I feel your loss.  I will not say " rest in peace" as I do not believe Tom will rest, even in Heaven, he will start to make modifications and improvements!

Tom was always a joy to work with. He always seemed to know the most random things in insane detail and always contributed thoughtfully to work meetings. He was personable, intelligent, and curious. We've lost a great teammate and good friend. My thoughts are with his family.

Tom was one of the best. I have nothing but found memories of him. He took his time to teach me how to reload the correct way among other things. I could always count on him whenever I needed anything whether it was work related or personal. Im truly thankful for having known him and he will be forever missed.

Tom  was a wonderful friend and great teacher!  Wish I had kept count of how many times he would share an interesting story, how many times he offered help  on  industries  questions and  how many times he was a supportive friend. 

Tom will be remembered and is a valued friend to so many..

I worked alongside Tommy during my early years at Continental Airlines. There was so much to learn for a 21-year-old thrown into the fast-paced world of a big, major airline. Tommy immediately took me under his wing and trained me. He was patient and thorough. His emphasis was always on safety.  He had a passion for aviation and airline work. Over the years, we became the best of friends and took many "non-rev" trips together. In the early years, our shift would end at 230AM. Afterwards, we would hang out together in various Kenner bars until the sun came up. We kept in touch throughout the years up until his passing. He was a dear friend to me. I will always miss him. My sincerest condolences, especially to Diane and Roger.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing.  Such a great guy and co worker.  He helped me decipher and gather info for the work I did.  I was never a bother to him.  My best memory of Tom was the last day in the office before Hurricane Katrina the told me, and showed me in his maps, where and how the hurricane would come through.  He was 100% right.  I was so amazed that he could do that.  When we got back in the office i went to his desk and told him "you nailed it".  I was amazed.  Such a great person.  I was so very blessed to have known him.  He will be greatly missed.

We will miss our long time friend and neighbor. He was always  checking to make sure we were doing okay and didn’t need help with anything. Rest in Peace dear friend.
