

Tyrone “Ty” August Rombach was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all eternity on Thursday November 10, 2016 at the age of 76. He was the loving son of Mildred May Decker and Adam Richard Rombach. He as a native of New Orleans and resident of the Westbank for the last 46 years. He bravely fought the good fight against 4 types of lymphoma over a period of 16 ½ years. Many thanks to Dr. Jayne Gurtler, his oncologist who he trusted and admired for her dedicated service. He was an avid LSU season ticket holder for 40 years and a member of the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation. Tyrone enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his New Orleans lifelong Uptown friends and loved them like family. He was a retired employee of the US Postal Service for 34 years and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office civil division for 20 years. He has been a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, his loyalty and devotion has been unwavering and was always inspired to “keep the light brightly burning.” He is the beloved husband of Kathleen K. Rombach; father of Cherie Lyn Rombach, Kathleen B. Morris (Glenn), and Daniel J. Barrilleaux, Jr. (Beverly); and brother of Mildred M. Munsch (Wesley); he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Adam Rombach.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Zion Lutheran Church 1924 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130 followed by interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. The family will also receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church.
