Venetia Hillard Carter transitioned to her heavenly home on February 8, 2021 peaceful at the age of 96. She was born in St. Francisville, Louisiana on January 12, 1925 to the late Lorenzo Brown and Ed Hillard. She was preceded in death by her beloved and loving husband of 56 years, Herbert Carter, Sr. She spent many of her years working at Charity Hospital where she retired after working there over 20 years. She was known to sit on the porch on Ursulines where everybody knew and loved Momma Carter. She leaves to cherish one loving son, Herbert Carter Jr. (Keisha); two grandchildren, Charisma (Darren) and Cherise Carter; three great grandchildre,n Darione Zardies, Darren Bell, Danny Butler; one step-great grandchild, De’Leiah Lasalle; two-step grandchildren, Devin and Kendall Lasalle. Venetia is preceded in death by her mother, Lorenzo Brown and father, Ed Hillard; two sisters, Edna Veal and Ethel Corina; five brothers, Ed Hillard Jr., Tom Hillard, Robert Hillard, Major Hillard and Murphy Hillard. Due to Covid restrictions, a private service for immediate family will be held at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum on Monday February 15, 2021.
