Mrs. Vera May Haase Caliva

Vera May Haase Caliva, former owner of Haase's Shoe Store & Young Folks Shop, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Francis P. Caliva, Sr. Mother of Francis P. (Cal) Caliva, Jr. (Jim Ann), Theresa (Terry) Caliva Boyer (Paul), Bruce Edward Caliva (Debbie), Kevin H. Caliva, (Judy) and the late Mary Katherine (Kit) Caliva Petitpain (Don). Sister of Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Haase Brown and the late Boris C. (Buster) Haase, Jr. and Della Haase Blaum. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and the late Scott Francis Caliva, 15 great grandchildren plus one to arrive shortly, and 1 great great grandchild plus numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers over the last months; Pamela Clanton, Lois Sanders, Latoya Brown, Katrina Nelson, Catina Wright and Carolyn Brumfield. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Mater Dolorosa Church, 1228 S Carrollton Ave., New Orleans, LA . Visitation at the Church from 9:30 AM to Noon with a Memorial Mass to follow. Private interment to follow.
