Wade G. Buquoi, Jr.

Wade Gabriel Buquoi, Jr., a retired Computer Programmer with the Department of Agriculture for the United States Government, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the age of 86. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie. He attended Sacred Heart High School and served in the United States Air Force Reserves. Wade made life-long friends that he cherished dearly through his various social clubs. He was one of the founding members of the Shepard’s Social Club in 1956. He loved playing tennis and spending time with friends and neighbors at Green Acres Country Club and enjoyed golfing with buddies in the Green Crest Golf Club. He was an avid Saints fan and season ticket holder, but more than anything, he was a family man first. He never missed an event for his boys or grandchildren. Wade “Pops” would light up a room when he entered with his infectious smile, jokes, wave, and “Wade-isms”.

Beloved husband of 33 years and 5 months to the late Valery LeBeau Buquoi. Son of the late Wade Gabriel Buquoi, Sr. and Clare Long Buquoi. Loving father of Craig Leo Buquoi (Dawn Darlington), Gary James Buquoi (Laine Hartley Buquoi) and Brandon Paul Buquoi (Lorna Sevilla Buquoi). Adoring grandfather of Grant Hartley Buquoi, Valery Lynn Buquoi, Solis Maria Buquoi and Adelina Ann Buquoi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Father Colin Braud, officiating.
