Walter Hermann Kramer

Walter Hermann Kramer passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 81. He was a native of Germany and resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Walter proudly served his country as Sgt in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 2 tours in the Vietnam War where he received several medals for his service. After his time in Vietnam, he earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Walter then went on to become a police officer, then moved over to the corporate world where he was V.P. of Corporate Securities until he retired. He enjoyed golfing with all his friends at Fox Run Country Club in South Carolina, but one of his favorite adventures was traveling all over North America with his wife seeing the country he loved so much. He was a very proud Marine who was also part of the American Legion. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. Kramer and Aleidine Kramer; and his dog and traveling buddy, Miley. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 19 years, Gail Vesely Kramer; his sons, Walter M. Kramer (Dani) and Jason Kramer (Natalie) and their mother, Elena Kramer; his stepdaughters, Jennifer Weaver (Rodney) and Megan Vesely Morgan; his grandchildren, Megan, Lucas, Baily, Katherine, Charly, Jace and Hunter; step grandchildren, Logan, Walker and Randi Hunter; great-granddaughter, Charleston; step great-grandchildren, Cameron, Oliver, Kahlyns and Abigail; loving sister, Aleidine J. Moeller; nephew, John Moeller; and his dog, Rosie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering for Walter held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10:00am until 1:00pm. Military honors will take place at 12:45pm in the parlor.
