William A. Ernst

William A. Ernst, age 94 passed away on June 19, 2023 in Jefferson, LA. He was born in New Orleans, La on May 23, 1929 to Harold Oliver Ernst and Flora May Armstrong Ernst and was also the step son of Ermyn P. Ernst. He also lived in Kenner, LA and Metairie, LA. He was a loving father and husband and was married to Margaret K. Ernst for 64 years prior to her passing on June 8, 2017. He is survived by his children, Randolph L. Ernst and Amy A. Ernst MD (Steven MD); granddaughter, Natalie MD (Nick MD). He was a graduate of Metairie High School and attended Tulane University. He was very successful pharmaceutical salesman working for Rohrer and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the Destroyer. He was a devout catholic and his last place of worship was St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Metairie Road. He was an avid stamp collector and loved collecting model cars and airplanes as well. He was a kind and generous gentleman and will be sadly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
