

PASSARELLA, Albert "Buster", 91, of New Port Richey, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at HPH Hospice on Rowan Rd. Albert was born in Camden, NJ, April 11, 1923. A World War ll Veteran, Albert served in the 5th Marine Division in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was a proud witness to the famous flag raising and later was sent to Japan after the atomic bomb drops that helped bring an end to the war. Albert's greatest service, however, was to his wife, Toni, and 6 children, Albert, Bobby, Carmen, Nicky, Anthony and Maryann. He was a loving husband and proud father who made as many sacrifices for his family as he made for his country. Albert loved to dance, winning Jitterbug contests as a young man and showing off the "Camel Walk" and "Shorty George" to his friends and family at gatherings through the years. He loved Sinatra whose songs became the music of his life. Albert was a proud member of the Marine Corps League's Holiday and Hernando Beach detachments and believed strongly that "Once a Marine, Always a Marine. Semper Fi! Services will be held at N. Meadowlawn Funeral Home, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652. Viewing Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5-8 pm, with Services and Funeral Friday, Dec. 12, at 11 am.
