Alicia was born on January 25, 1929, in Lajas, Puerto Rico, to Joaquin and Carmen Barros. On March 17, 1945, she married the love of her life, José De Carmen Chinea, beginning a devoted marriage that would span many years.
Alicia was a dedicated homemaker and a loving mother to her five children. She found great joy in spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed staying connected with loved ones on Facebook.
She is survived by her five children, Magda, Alice, Joseph, Willie, and Gloria; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Alicia’s love, strength, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, on February 25, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
