Dorothy was one of seven children born to the late Peter and Edna Farrell of Stamford, Connecticut. She attended Stamford public schools, played basketball, and sang in the church choir. She met her husband George while they were both employed at Stamford Fidelity Bank. She became a full time mother until their children became school-aged. Then she re-entered the work force and worked various administrative assistant jobs at places including the Franciscan Monastery and Laminated Shim. She and George retired together and relocated to New Port Richey, Florida where they enjoyed golfing, bowling, and volunteering at church and local military clubs. She is survived by her son George of New Port Richey, her daughter Kathleen of Acworth, GA., and her brothers Robert and Peter. She was predeceased by her husband George, her brother James, and her sisters Elizabeth, Ann and Edith. Private family services were held Thursday March 16, 2017 at Meadowlawn Funeral Home in New Port Richey, FL.
