Eleanor O. Roberts

January 25, 1929 - January 27, 2015

Eleanor O. Roberts, 86, of New Port Richey, FL, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at home with her family. Eleanor, or as most knew her by “Dolly” was born on January 25, 1929, the daughter of Steven and Frances (Rosecky) Benak. She was the loving wife of Ernest Dechow for 29 years, who preceded her in death in 1976. She was also the loving wife of Robert Roberts for 31 years, who preceded her in death in 2008. She was a loving mother of 3, Grandma of 4 and Great Grandma of 7.

Dolly worked hard all of her life, she worked at Continental Can in Chicago for 17 years, Anclote Manor in Florida and she even at one point owned a bar, Peek-A-Boo Inn in Chicago many many years ago. She was full blooded Czechoslovakian and showed it by her hard work and her love of cooking, especially dumplings, Chicken Paprikash and Kolackys which were her specialties. She always cared for others more than herself and she constantly showed that by being a big “worry wart”.

Dolly is survived by her daughter, Lynn Krause(Williams Bay, WI), her son, Ernie Dechow(New Port Richey, FL)her step-son Michael(Laura)Roberts (Palm Harbor, FL)and her step-daughter Pat Kauffman(Palm Harbor, FL). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, her granddaughter, Linda(Dan) Brown(Elkhorn, WI), her granddaughter Donna(Steve)O’Neil(Highlandville, MO), her grandson Russell(Tasha)Dechow(Springfield, MO)and her grandson Brian(Marie) Wellington(Merced, CA). She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Alex and Jake Brown (Elkhorn, WI), Heidi and Katie Wellington (Merced, CA), Jessica and Jacob O’Neil (Highlandville, MO) and Breah Dechow (Springfield, MO). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents Steven and Frances Benak, husband’s Ernest Dechow and Robert Roberts and her son Steven Dechow.
