Ila Leah Fivecoat

Ila Leah Fivecoat was born on January 18th, 1947 in Corunna, Michigan. She was adopted by the Fizzell family (Roy, Francis, and son Ronald) and raised in Elsie, MI. Ila had three siblings, 3 sisters and 1 younger brother – Mary Henry, Holly Black, Shirley Rowley, and William Fish.

As a mother and homemaker, Ila tried several careers outside the home until she eventually retired from GTE/Verizon, a telecommunications company along with her dear friend Meda Lusk. She then worked many years with her dear friend Julie Holt at Anclote Title, a real estate title company. Ila also worked hard flipping and renting residential homes. She was well known for her financial savvy when renovating and decorating investment homes. Ila enjoyed following Tampa Bay area sports teams with her husband – particularly the Buccaneers and the Devil Rays.

Ila is survived by her beloved husband, Danny Jay “DJ” Fivecoat a retired police officer and real estate investor. Ila and Danny married on 28 October 1965 in Michigan.

Ila and Danny had 2 sons: David Jeffery Fivecoat (20 June 1966 – 6 Feb 2015) and Dennis James Fivecoat (22 April 1969 -)

David Fivecoat was a retail manager and volunteer fire fighter/EMT.

Dennis Fivecoat is a retired US Army Major who runs a small consulting company (Advantage Training And Consulting).

Ila Fivecoat was able to witness the birth and growth of 6 Grandchildren:

Curtis Fivecoat, Ambere Locascio, Justin Fivecoat, Zalina Sorrentini, Logan Fivecoat, and Dexter Fivecoat

Ila Fivecoat was able to witness the birth and growth of 4 Great grandchildren.

Brooke Johnson, Keiran Dobbin, Levi Fivecoat, and Teagan Fivecoat

A visitation for Ila will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
