He is survived by his wife, Sharon Phillips; three sons, Stephen Phillips, David (Anne) Phillips, Jonathan (Vicky) Phillips; and seven grandchildren, Ryan, Bryanna, Colby, Haley, Jonathan, Will, and Emma.
Jerry served in the US Navy navigating several submarines throughout the oceans around the world including the USS Casimir Pulaski on its maiden voyage. Jerry later became a civil servant serving as law enforcement in Tarpon Springs and for Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department, where he later retired.
After retiring, Jerry followed his passion for serving God and his local church. Jerry had a heart for talking to people about God and his family. If there is anything Jerry wanted everyone to know is that God loved you, Jesus died for you, and all are welcome. There is not a person that he met that he would not share his love for Jesus with.
Jerry also had a Homeless ministry throughout Pasco Country providing food and clothing for many homeless people and worked with many military veterans at the SmileFaith Veterans Dental Clinic in New Port Richey.
