Paul Eugene Stoehr, “PR”, was born in Marietta, Ohio, on May 29th, 1958. His parent’s names were Lucille Carpenter Stoehr and Vernon Stoehr, both predeceased. Paul was the youngest of three children- Pat and Brenda are his surviving sisters, along with several nieces and nephews. The three of them grew up together in Lower Salem, Ohio. He graduated from Frontier High School in New Matamoras, Ohio on May 22nd, 1977, and also obtained his certification for diversified cooperative training. As a young man, Paul had a passion for sports, and coached a girl’s softball team up in Ohio; he also had a love for hunting. About thirty years ago, Paul and his father moved from Ohio to Florida. In 1986, Paul met his soon-to-be wife, Donna, over a CB radio. Donna referred to herself as “blue eyes” and Paul was “push rod”, which is where his nickname “PR” originated. In November of 1987, Paul started working as a fleet mechanic at the Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor, FL.; he loved his career and was a dedicated employee for almost 27 years. His job also gave him the opportunity to be certified as a diesel mechanic, and he made many friendships throughout the years. On January 12th, 1990, Paul and Donna were in love and tied the knot. Several months later, they became blessed with a baby girl on August 16, 1990, named Katrina Lucille Stoehr. Paul also had three stepchildren he loved and helped raise- Nicole, Michelle, and Johnson. From Donna's three oldest, Paul was given six step-grandchildren: Joshua, Brandon, Jordon, Kyla, Daniel, and Gabrielle. In July of 2015, Paul was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Through many doctor’s appointments, procedures, and chemotherapy/radiation treatments, Paul’s strength and courage was unwavering. On the night of August 21st, 2016, Paul passed away peacefully in his home; he was 58 years old. Paul was a quiet man with a generous heart, always willing to help others for little or nothing in return. Not once did Paul give up, which showed how much his life meant to him, and how much he wanted to simply live. He will be sadly missed, but the legacy of Paul’s kind spirit, passion for mechanics, love of family, and willingness to fight will live on in our memories forever.
