On Sunday, April 12, 2020, Peter J. Alexander, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 94 at his home surrounded by his family. Peter was born on July 28, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to James and Mary (Marchetti) Alexander. A veteran of World War II, he served his country as a rifleman and military police officer in the Army during a tour of duty in Europe. On September 29, 1946, he married Madeline Cusano. They raised two daughters, Susan and Renee, and one son, Mark. Growing up he was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan and mourned their move to Los Angeles as did the entire borough. He loved to sing and enjoyed the music of the crooner era, especially Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland. His outgoing personality endeared him to everyone he met throughout his life. Always the life of the party, he was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and relaxed personality. He was kind and generous to those close to him and those he only briefly knew. For the last five years, he volunteered his time at Trinity Hospital greeting visitors offering a friendly voice to those in need. He came to golf later in life and shot many good rounds. He was always seeking a challenging game of billiards; he knew he was good. He loved passing his time with a bit of TV including watching his NFL Detroit Lions and his favorite comedies The Honeymooners and Jackie Gleason, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello – obviously he loved to laugh and be silly in the best of ways. His ultimate favorite at home pastime was sharing a meal and game night with family, oh and a bit of old TCM movies too! Peter was preceded in death by his father James, mother, Mary and nine loving siblings. He is survived by his wife, Madeline, his three children – Susan, Mark and Renee, one sister, Mary Lentino-Raso and numerous nieces and nephews.
