Robert J Murphy

Robert Murphy was born in Flushing, New York, the youngest of three sons. He served in the Naval Reserves and began his career as a bank teller. In 1951 he was hired with Bankers Trust Company in Manhattan, New York. He married and raised his family in Franklin Square, New York where he lived until 1988 when he moved to Phoenix, Arizona. In 2013 he moved to New Port Richey, Florida. Robert passed away July 31, 2024 at the age of 93, surrounded by loving family.

The love of his life, Miriam Murphy entered heaven in 2021. Robert, is survived by his two children; Philip Murphy (Cathy) of New York and Grace Murphy (Scott) of New Port Richey, Florida. He has two grandchildren, Stephanie Muller and Evan Murphy. He also leaves behind many extended family members who he loved and thought of dearly.

Robert had a love and passion for classical music. He also enjoyed reading, mathematics and history.

Robert was kind-hearted, humble, gentle and an honest man. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He truly will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside services for Robert will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652.
