

She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 4, 1921, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Angelis) Vergos, one of seven children and two half-siblings. She was married to Michael Moraitis in 1946, and was married for 66 years until his death in 2013. She worked as a hairdresser, owning her own salon in Haverhill, Massachusetts, until retirement brought them to Florida. Throughout her life, she was an avid world traveler, enjoyed cooking Greek dishes, playing cards and games, and spending time with her family. She was enormously proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She was a member of the St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, FL.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Fuchs of Vienna, VA and Carol Turner of Cornelius, NC; her granddaughters, Abby de Goey (Godfried) of Oakton, VA and Amanda Lowry (Frank) of Huntersville, NC, and a great granddaughter, Aoife. She is also survived by two siblings; Charles Vergos (Evangelia) of Las Vegas, NV and Connie Michaels of Littleton, Mass.; her beloved nephew, William (Bill) Christopher, of Seminole, FL , who was like a son to her; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend services on Tuesday, April 28th at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, FL. Services will begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church, 3600 76th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
